Abstract

This study aims to determine differences of employee’s personality between generation X and generation Y. We use the big five personality model consists of extraversion, agreableness, conscientiousness, neoriticsm, and openness to experience. This research also intended to examine the effect of big five personality on job stress on generation X and Y. The hypothesis was tested using independent sample t-test and multiple regression. The results of hypothesis testing on 126 samples indicated that there are no personality differences in the big five dimension among generation X and Y. The multiple regression results also do not show the influence of personality types on the level of work stress felt by generation X and Y. Additional analysis results show there is no difference in job stress level felt by generation X and Y.

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to examine the relationship between accounting information systems implementation and the governance of rural banks (bank perkreditan rakyat/BPR). Specifically, this study examines the effect of bookkeeping systems, financial reporting, budgeting systems, and IFRS for SMEs implementation on good corporate governance of rural banks.   PLS-SEM wasemployed for data analysis to 145 rural banks registered in Regional Owned Bank Association of Central Java Indonesia. The results of data analysis found that bookkeeping systems, financial reporting and budgeting systems implemetation positively affectgood corporate governance of rural banks, while IFRS for SMEs implementation was not significantly affectgood corporate governance of rural banks.

Abstract

The article investigates the relationship between dimensions of work-life balance (time balance, involvement balance, and satisfaction balance) on organizational commitment. Employee at one of the hotels in Bandarlampung, Lampung, Indonesia, were surveyed and a total of 60 useable questionnaires were returned. We employed multiple regression analysis on those data and found that the time balance, involvement balance, and satisfaction balancepositively affected the organizational commitment.

Abstract

This paper examines the effects of brand placement and player involvement on brand awareness. The data in this study were collected from questionnaires distributed to 150 game players of online game with snowball sampling. Data analysis used multiple regression  analysis. However, our prediction that there were effect of brand placement and player involvement on brand awareness was not supported. We presents the discussions in this paper.

Abstract

This paper discusses the relationship between uncertainty, trust and the application of formal governance mechanism in Indonesian family SMEs. The data were obtained through survey to 360 family firms in indonesia. This study used factor analysis to validate the construct and multiple regression analysis to examine the hypothesis. The moderation testing indicated that trust moderated the relationship between uncertainty and formal governance was negatively significant

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to explore the experience of some informants regarding the phenomenon of queen bee in Indonesia. Our study used qualitative method with case study approach. Data was gathered using in-depth interview on seven informants. The result shows that the queen bee leader did intimidating and mostly not supporting the career of her subordinate woman. Besides, the queen bee leader make distance not only to her subordinate which are female, but also to her female colleagues at work. Queen bee leader tend to give preferential treatment to men. This phenomenon has more negative impacts than positive impacts. The negative impact caused by the queen bee phenomenon is that it can cause victim to be feel intimidatied and stressed, the work atmosphere becomes less conducive, uncomfortable, disrupts the operations of the company. While the positive impact of the existence of the queen bee leader is the job need to be due became quicker to be completed.

Abstract

The objectives of this paper is to investigate factors that affecting SMEs performance. Particularly, our study examined the effect of entrepreneurial orientation, adaptability to external environment, and competitive advantage to SMEs performance. We also test the effect of entrepreneurial orientation and adaptability to external environment on SMEs competitive advantage. Results of structural equation modeling on 100 SMEs in Semarang, Central Java, Indonesia, suggested that entrepreneurial orientation and competitive advantage has a positive effect on SMEs business performance. However, our prediction that adaptability to external environment positively affect SMEs performance was not supported. Furthermore, our study also found that entrepreneurial orientation and adaptability to external environment positively affect SMEs competitive advantage.
